When most people think of Las Vegas engagement photos, they picture neon lights, casinos, or iconic wedding chapels. While those can absolutely be fun, Connie and Anthony had a completely different vision for their engagement session.
The two met in nursing school and are now both nurses, and when they reached out about engagement photos, they knew they wanted something timeless and elegant. Although they live in Las Vegas, their goal was to create photos that didn’t immediately feel like Las Vegas. Instead of bright lights and busy streets, they wanted beautiful architecture, romantic backdrops, and a location that felt elevated and classic.
As a California photographer and destination engagement photographer, I love traveling for sessions like this. Connie and Anthony flew me out to Las Vegas for their engagement photos, and The Venetian ended up being the perfect location for bringing their vision to life.

Why The Venetian is Perfect for Las Vegas Engagement Photos
One of the reasons I love recommending The Venetian for Las Vegas engagement photos is because it offers a completely different look than many people expect from Las Vegas. Inspired by the architecture of Venice, Italy, the property features stone walkways, archways, columns, fountains, and elegant facades. The architecture really feels timeless.
While we took a few photos indoors, we spent most of our session outside. The exterior spaces provide so much variety without needing to travel all over the city. Throughout the property, you’ll find quiet corners, beautiful textures, and architectural details that create an editorial feel. For couples looking for Las Vegas engagement photos that feel refined, The Venetian is one of my favorite locations.

Connie & Anthony’s Engagement Session
From the start, Connie and Anthony wanted their engagement photos to feel natural and sophisticated. Because they spend their days caring for others as nurses, it was fun getting to slow things down and focus entirely on them for an evening. They were incredibly easygoing throughout the session, and I loved seeing how comfortable they were together.
One of my favorite things about photographing engagement sessions is finding that balance between candid moments and more intentional portraits. Connie and Anthony made that easy. Some moments felt relaxed and spontaneous, while others leaned a little more editorial, which worked perfectly with the architecture throughout The Venetian.

Tips for Planning Las Vegas Engagement Photos
If you’re planning your own Las Vegas engagement photos, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Think Beyond the Traditional Vegas Locations
Las Vegas has so much more to offer than casinos and the Strip. Locations like The Venetian provide beautiful architecture and a more timeless aesthetic while still keeping you in the heart of the city.
Consider Your Overall Vision
Before choosing a location, think about how you want your photos to feel. Do you want something playful and iconic? Modern and editorial? Romantic and classic? Your location should support that vision.

Plan Around the Best Light
Like most engagement sessions, lighting makes a huge difference. Early morning and late afternoon generally provide the most flattering light (and fewer crowds).
Don’t Be Afraid to Travel for Your Photographer
Many couples assume they need to hire someone local, but that isn’t always the case. If you connect with a photographer’s style and approach, it can absolutely be worth bringing them in. As a California photographer, I regularly travel for weddings and engagement sessions. Whenever I’m photographing somewhere new, I always build in time beforehand to explore the area and scout locations so the experience feels seamless for my couples.
