An Elegant Flood Mansion Wedding in the Heart of San Francisco

As a San Francisco wedding photographer, there are certain venues that never stop inspiring me, and a Flood Mansion wedding is always at the top of that list. Perched above the city with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, James Leary Flood Mansion offers a rare blend of historic elegance and modern sophistication.

Jules and Savannah’s wedding day was the perfect reflection of that balance. It was chic, romantic, and thoughtfully designed from start to finish. With rich burgundy tones woven throughout the day, timeless fashion choices, and intentional moments shared with their closest people, their celebration felt both elevated and deeply personal. It was truly an elegant wedding celebration in the heart of San Francisco.

Getting Ready for the Day

The morning began quietly and intentionally, with Jules and Savannah getting ready separately before heading to Flood Mansion for their ceremony and reception. Savannah spent the morning at a nearby Airbnb surrounded by her bridesmaids, enjoying a relaxed start to the day while hair and makeup were underway. The atmosphere felt calm and joyful. It was one of those mornings where time seems to slow down just enough.

The bridesmaids wore burgundy robes, setting the tone for the color palette that would be woven throughout the entire wedding day. Savannah wore her long hair down in soft Hollywood curls and stepped into a stunning off-the-shoulder gown with a structured corset bodice that felt effortlessly timeless. Every detail felt intentional and fashion-forward without trying too hard.

Meanwhile, Jules got ready at their apartment with his groomsmen. The energy was celebratory and relaxed. They had drinks in hand, music playing, and plenty of laughter as everyone got dressed. Jules wore a crisp white tuxedo jacket paired with classic black tuxedo pants, creating a striking contrast against his groomsmen, who wore traditional black tuxedos. The look was refined, confident, and undeniably chic.

Once everyone was ready, the couple made their way to Flood Mansion for one of the most memorable parts of the day.

Why I Love Flood Mansion

From a photographer’s perspective, a Flood Mansion wedding is a dream. The venue’s historic architecture, grand interiors, and expansive outdoor spaces offer endless opportunities for timeless, editorial imagery.

Flood Mansion’s old-world charm is unbeatable. The character of the building, like ornate details, tall windows, and rich textures, adds depth and elegance to every photograph. Couples love that the venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces. That allows for a seamless flow throughout the day while still feeling intimate and refined.

One of the most iconic features is the balcony overlooking San Francisco and the Bay. It’s the perfect setting for portraits, first looks, or quiet moments together, all while showcasing one of the most recognizable city backdrops in the world. The courtyard provides a romantic, European-inspired atmosphere for ceremonies and cocktail hours, while the indoor reception spaces feel warm, grand, and timeless.

For couples who value style, history, and a setting that feels truly special, Flood Mansion offers an unforgettable experience.

Their Flood Mansion Wedding Ceremony

Jules and Savannah shared a romantic first look on the balcony at Flood Mansion. The city and Bay stretched out behind them. It was intimate, emotional, and incredibly beautiful. It was the perfect quiet pause before the celebration truly began.

The ceremony took place outdoors in Flood Mansion’s stunning courtyard. Savannah walked down the aisle with her veil draped softly over her face. She carried a voluminous bouquet filled with white blooms, including orchids, accented with subtle pops of pink and burgundy. The look was romantic and perfectly complemented the historic surroundings.

With the courtyard bathed in natural light and surrounded by lush florals and classic architecture, the ceremony felt timeless and elegant. Afterward, guests transitioned seamlessly into cocktail hour in the same space, enjoying the atmosphere as the celebration continued.

Their Flood Mansion Wedding Reception

The reception was held indoors, transforming the mansion into a candlelit, romantic setting for the evening. Burgundy tablecloths dressed each table, paired with glowing tapered candles that added warmth and depth to the room.

For the reception, Jules changed into a burgundy velvet tuxedo jacket. It was an elevated fashion moment that tied beautifully into the overall color palette and added a luxurious texture to the evening. The shift from day to night felt effortless. The indoor space provided a cozy yet refined atmosphere for dinner, toasts, and dancing.

Every detail, from the florals to the fashion, reinforced the vision Jules and Savannah had for their wedding day.
